Light and Bright Treatment

Our specialty for skin resurfacing at Alinea Medical Spa is the “Light and Bright” treatment.

This treatment will help reclaim your skin’s youthful look, texture, and tone.

Youthful and glowing skin is the biggest request from our patients around the world.

As we age, our skin will inevitably change; it loses its smoothness, and unwanted pigmentation and small vessels can appear over time.

Additionally, sun exposure can accelerate signs of aging over the years.

Now with the “Light and Bright” skin rejuvenation treatment, you can reduce these signs of aging with the help of our Medical Doctors at Alinea Medical Spa by:

How the Light & Bright Treatment Works

The Light & Bright treatment is a non-ablative treatment. Non-ablative means that the laser will heat the underlying skin tissue without harming the skin on the surface. The laser’s heat promotes collagen growth, which will tighten the skin and make it look youthful and glowing!

The industry leading Frax 1550 technology rejuvenates the skin by delivering tiny, well-controlled bursts of energy only to the area being treated to reduce textural irregularities.

The Ellipse IPL Photofacial technology refreshes the skin by using similar small, controlled bursts of light that directly target blood vessels or melanin within your skin, reducing the coloring of age spots, freckles, redness, and overall sun damage.

Laser Resurfacing NYC

Laser Resurfacing in NYC

At Alinea Medical Spa, we offer fractional laser resurfacing with the industry leading Frax 1550 laser.

What is fractional laser resurfacing?

A fractional laser means it targets a fraction of the skin at one time. The laser beam is divided into thousands of minuscule beams to treat controlled microscopic regions of the face.

The FRAX 1550 laser is unique because it features SoftCool™ technology for comfort during treatment. It is a minimally invasive and relatively painless laser skin resurfacing treatment. The best part? There is little to no downtime! You can show off the results of this innovative laser technology almost immediately after treatment!

The difference between the Frax Laser and the Fraxel Laser Treatment

Fraxel is a registered brand name by Solta Medical

Both Fraxel and Frax are non-ablative skin resurfacing treatments that promote collagen and softens skin texture.

IPL Laser Resurfacing in NYC

The Nordlys Ellipse® IPL (intense pulse light) laser delivers energy pulses that penetrate vessels deep within the skin. This targeted treatment means that only the necessary vessels are affected. The wavelength technology means there will be less heat on the skin, making it a more comfortable patient experience.

The IPL Laser can treat a variety of skin conditions, including:

IPL treatments can be used anywhere on your body like your decolletage, hands, back, et cetera. Keep in mind; it’s more effective on even areas.

Profound RF Skin Resurfacing

Profound RF (radiofrequency) is a non-surgical skin lifting and tightening procedure. It is the only FDA-approved treatment that stimulates collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin to achieve skin lifting and tightening.

RF Skin Resurfacing involves inserting tiny needles into the deeper layers of the skin. These needles deliver a highly controlled burst of radiofrequency energy for a controlled duration of time. This energy stimulates the collagen in the skin while promoting profound healing and cellular repair.

The Profound RF Skin Resurfacing Treatment is excellent for both short-term and long-term results. After three to four months, patients can expect firmer skin and improved facial contours, especially around the neck and jawline area. One treatment is likely to produce gratifying results that continue to improve for up to a year!

Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that requires no downtime. It involves utilizing a dermarolling device that punctures the skin to trigger collagen production in the skin cells. Collagen production improves volume, elasticity, and firmness.

Microneedling can treat a variety of skin conditions, including:

FAQ’s

How long does laser resurfacing last?

The length of the effects of laser resurfacing will depend on the patient’s skin. Some patients will see results immediately and enjoy the benefits for several years. It’s important to note that laser resurfacing can’t prevent the natural aging process, so wrinkles and fine lines will occur over time. Talk to one of our cosmetic experts to determine how frequently you should be getting these treatments.

How do I care for my face after laser resurfacing

The number one thing you can do to care for your face immediately after laser resurfacing is to stay out of the sun. If you can’t avoid the sun, wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF (sun protection factor) of at least 30. Use a very gentle cleanser and moisturizer with minimal ingredients to keep your skin clean and hydrated. Our aesthetician will recommend the best skincare products and other actions for aftercare.

How long will I be red after laser resurfacing? How should my skin look two days after resurfacing?

Your skin will sometimes be red or pink for one to two weeks following your laser resurfacing. You can apply a cold compress or wrapped ice pack to the affected skin to reduce redness, swelling and any slight discomfort you may experience.

How long to see results from laser resurfacing for scars?

How long it takes to see results from laser resurfacing will depend on the severity of your acne scarring. Typically, after the third day of fractional laser resurfacing, you will notice an improvement in the appearance of acne scars that will continue for the next two months. Most people will require at least one more laser resurfacing treatment to see more long-lasting results. Our skincare experts will analyze your skin and determine the best course of action for you.

How safe is laser resurfacing?
The laser resurfacing treatments at Alinea Medical Spa are 100% safe. You should only have these treatments completed by a board-certified medical doctor with expertise using industry-leading technology. AMS is proud to use only highly-advanced laser technology and have the skills and experience to provide safe treatments and advice to our patients.
Which is better chemical peel or laser resurfacing? Which is better for removing wrinkles: chemical peel or laser resurfacing?

Chemical peel and laser surfacing are both incredible options for skin resurfacing. Neither is necessarily better than the other. The question is, which is better for YOUR skin type and concerns. You need to factor in how quickly you’d like to see results, how much you’re willing to pay and how much downtime you can afford. Chemical peels are often better for acne scars, while laser resurfacing is better for deeper wrinkles and sun damage. Often, we will recommend a combination of treatments to address and treat your skin concerns.

How often should you get a laser facial resurfacing?

How often you receive laser facial resurfacing will depend on the severity of the condition you’re treating, from acne scarring to sagging to wrinkles. The most often you can receive this treatment is about once a month because it takes about four weeks for the skin to heal fully . However, this is reserved for patients with severe skin issues. In some cases, for people with little to no scarring and moderate aging, you will see results after just one treatment and enjoy the effects for up to five years. Our skin analysts will develop the laser facial resurfacing plan that will work the best for you.
